Gerade stolperte ich zufällig über einen alten Eindruck aus dem vergangenen März, der sich um die Bewertung des “Blog-Einflusses” (Blog-Influence) drehte. Damals war mein Wert 1.696 - nunmehr sind es schon 2.305. Was auch immer mir das sagen will.

Nutzt du die Blogengine Serendipity/S9y?

Ja, offensichtlich - siehe unten links.

Wenn ja, was war für dich der Grund gerade diese zu wählen?

Angefangen hatte ich mit Sunlog - wenn ich mich recht erinnere, weil ich das bei einem Bekannten gesehen hatte und es hinreichend unkompliziert (und leicht erweiterbar) wirkte. Beim Blick auf den Code bekam ich allerdings teilweise das kalte Grausen, und so richtig komfortabel oder featurereich war Sunlog nun wirklich nicht. Also mußte etwas anderes her, und da boten sich eben primär Wordpress und s9y an.

Den Ausschlag gab dann Kris Köhntopp, der für sein Blog serendipity nutzte und mehrfach über die Installation und das Tuning berichtete; was Kris nutzt, kann sowieso nicht ganz schlecht sein, die Berichte klangen gut, die Developer, allen voran Garvin, wirkten kompetent, das System sah gut aus - also habe ich es beim Relauch meiner Homepage zum Jahreswechsel 2004/2005 installiert und bin seitdem sehr glücklich damit.

Serendipity ist stabil, sicher, funktional wie komfortabel und platzt mit seinen Plugins geradezu vor Features (letzteres ist das einzige, was mir manchmal etwas Sorgen macht - wenn aus einer Blogsoftware das eierlegende Wollmilchsau-CMS mit Download-, Forum-, Feedback- und Sonstwas-Modul werden soll, bleibt dabei manchmal das Kerngeschäft auf der Strecke; bislang ist davon aber noch nichts zu spüren).

Was müsste S9y (oder eine andere Blogengine) anbieten (Plugin, Funktionalität, Geldpreise), damit du deine Blogengine wechseln würdest?

Ich wechsele die genutzte Software nur sehr selten; dafür müßte es dann wirklich massive Gründe geben, bspw. Instabilität, Sicherheitsprobleme oder das befürchtete Auseinanderdriften zu einem riesigen, monolithischen “Von-allem-etwas”-Gebilde, bei der der Kernpunkt des Geschehens, das Blog, auf der Strecke bleibt.

Was wäre für dich ein Projekt (Dienst, Plugin, “Codeschnipsel”) an dem Entwickler von unterschiedlichen Blogengines zusammenarbeiten sollten/könnten?

Sinnvoll wäre es, für kompatible Methoden bei Trackbacks zu sorgen, damit jedes Blog jedes andere pingen und von jedem anderen gepingt werden kann.

Gleichfalls gilt das für die Entwicklung von Feed-Methoden (RSS, atom, ...) , von Spamschutzmethoden und - soweit man das möchte - von Methoden des Identitäts-Managements (“single sign-on”), wenn man für das Kommentieren einen Login erzwingen möchte.

Wer hat sonst noch mitgemacht?

Musikalisches Apportieren

Keines. Ich höre eigentlich nicht besonders viel Musik, es sei denn im Auto oder ggf. dank MP3-Stick in Zug oder Stadtbahn, insbesondere dann, wenn die Umgebung mal wieder besonders nervig ist.
